OMS Stu Co is doing a canned food drive competition! Tomorrow will be the last day to collect canned goods for your 1/2 block today, (Friday) April 19th. Create a sculpture or design with the canned goods. The more creative the better!! On April 19th, there will be some judges to pick a winning canned creation! Winning 1/2 block gets a donut party.
Dodgeball tournament will be held on Wednesday, April 24th. If students are interested in participating in the dodgeball tournament, they will need to have a signed waiver form allowing them to participate. The cost to enter will be $10.00 per player. Each dodgeball team will consist of 8 players. Must have at least 2 people of opposite gender on the team. Each player has the opportunity to purchase up to 4 lives. Each life costs $5.00. You can sign up without a team. If you do not have a team just bring your money and a signed waiver. ALL FORMS are DUE by APRIL 19th. Each team will need to fill out a team form and collect the entire team's entry fee and waiver BEFORE you turn them in to Coach Coffman or Coach Doyle. Forms and money MUST BE organized before they are turned in. If paying by check--make check payable to OMS/Odessa Middle School.
OMS Color Run will be held here at the OMS on April 29th from 3:15 - 4:00 pm. Remember....in order to participate in the Color Run you must have a signed permission form from your parent/guardian. This is for OMS students only, $15.00 for one student and $10.00 for each MS siblings, for a total of $25 max per family. Permission slip must be turned in by the end of day, Friday, April 26th. No exceptions! Come have some colorful fun!!
OMS will have a Talent Show the last day of school (May 23rd). Auditions for the Talent Show will be the week of April 22 thru April 26th from 7:20 to 7:50am. You must sign up and audition if you want to be in the Talent Show. All questions need to be addressed to Mr. Fry or Mr. Wiggins. Auditions will be held in Mr. Fry's music room. The sign up sheet for auditions will be outside of Mr. Fry's room.
Did you know that April is National Poetry Month? The final library contest for the 23-24 school year is to honor the beloved chicken patty day in celebration of National Poetry Month. Pick up a Haiku submission form in the library and turn in your Haiku to Mrs. Lefman in the library no later than Friday, April 26th for judging. One winner from each grade level will be announced on Wednesday, May 1st.
Odessa Track meet (Sponsored by Odessa Optimists) The meet is scheduled for Friday, April 26th at the High School track at 4:40 pm, beginning with field events. Get your permissions slips picked up and signed early!!
Entry and Event forms are available for those interested, outside of the office door. Entry forms must be signed by a parent or guardian.
