Dear Odessa R-VII Families:

On May 14, 2021 the Lafayette County Health Department (LCHD) announced it would be rescinding the Public Health Order to include removing the countywide mask mandate, effective June 1, 2021.

For the remainder of the regular school year, the district asks all staff and students to continue to follow the LCHD guidance of wearing a face covering or mask.  Starting with Summer School on June 2, 2021, in accordance with the Public Health Order being rescinded, masks and face coverings will be optional for students and staff.

While mask restrictions have lifted, other preventative measures remain in effect. Individuals not fully vaccinated who are identified as a close contact of someone COVID positive, will still be required to quarantine up to 14 days.

Please note, the LCHD and CDC recommends face coverings for those not fully vaccinated.  Any student or staff who chooses to continue to wear a mask or face covering is welcome to do so.
