Sophomore Timeline
During your sophomore year, it is important for you to keep working hard toward your goals. Here a few things for you to work on this year:
- Maintain grades: Each year is just as important as the next. Keep working hard to keep your GPA in good standing.
- Stay involved: Keep participating in sports, clubs and organizations. These experiences will help you become a well-rounded student and may spark some new interests.
- Update portfolio: Make sure you update all information in your folder (grades, new activities, offices, etc.). This will help you when you start filling out college applications your senior year.
- Research careers: Start researching different careers you are interested in. Look for information about projected job trends for each career. Research the education and training needed for your top career choices.
- PLAN ACT: During your sophomore year you will take the PLAN ACT (Pre-ACT). This exam will give you experience with taking college placement exams and will also give you a projected score range for the ACT.
- College search: Start looking at college web sites to get familiar with the general college admissions process.
- Get a job: Start seeking employment to help you gain important skills needed and to also start saving money for college expenses.
