OHS Hybrid Intervention/Tips

Dear High School Virtual Students and Families, 

As we enter the third week of the second semester and the continuation of hybrid learning we are reaching out to OHS families about opportunities to best support our students through communication and academic intervention.  As parents, please support the hybrid learning process by reinforcing our educational efforts from home.  Some tips to promote the best learning environment for your student are
Have your students engaging daily in the hybrid learning platform on their virtual days.  This includes logging onto the virtual ed platform, and checking email daily.  It is recommended that students spend up to 5-7 hours daily working on academics during hybrid virtual days. 
Set a daily schedule to mirror the in-seat school day.  Routine is important.
Communicate with teachers through the virtual learning platform and email if questions arise.  
It is essential to stay current on your assignments, both in-seat and virtual. Falling behind on either platform can greatly hinder the educational process.  
Support students utilization of Bulldog Block Interventions, and Monday Open teacher access.
Utilize the below listed tutoring intervention opportunities for student support.  

ALL students can access tutoring available  T, W, Th, Fri.  from 3:00-4:00 PM to help students with course work.  Tutoring can be accessed both in-person and virtually through the Google Meet Virtual Conference platform.  Our goal is to provide support services for all students, to succeed in the classroom.   

Tutoring Assignments are as follows:
Monday:    Open Teacher Access from 12:00-3:00 PM
Tuesday:    Math (Austin)        ELA (Krewson)    
Wednesday:    Math (Carmody)    Science (Gwodz)
Thursday:    Math (Austin)        Social Studies (Williams)
Friday:        Math (Carmody)    Social Studies (Stever)

All teachers are available Monday from 12:00-3:00 PM, and assigned content area teachers are available for tutoring (whether they are your teacher or not).  Math teachers are available daily, with other content specific tutors available on the above assigned days.  To access the virtual tutoring services offered T-F from 3:00-4:00 PM follow the below link. meet.google.com/vps-djcc-wnn
