Financial Aid/Scholarships

One of the biggest concerns when planning for college is how to pay for the cost.  The OHS Counseling Center has information to help you navigate through the world of financial aid, scholarships, and loans.  Below are a few resources to help you get started. Please contact our office to set up an appointment for further assistance if needed.  

 

A+ Information:The Missouri A+ Program offers a way for students to receive a state-paid financial incentive to attend any Missouri public community college or career-technical school. This is a listing of the colleges/universities that accept A+ funds or offer scholarships or tuition discounts to A+ certified students. Please contact Ashley Ray, OHS A+ Coordinator, for more information.   

National, State, and Local ScholarshipsThis is a listing of scholarship applications that are available in the OHS Counseling office or click on the red Quick Link button on the right side of our website titled "Scholarships."  Students are encouraged to check the scholarship listing every 1-2 weeks for new scholarships. Please make sure you check with each college/university that you are applying to for scholarships they have available.  You can usually find this information from their website or by contacting the financial aid office.  

Institutional Scholarships: This is a listing of Missouri colleges offering 4-year degree's and the institutional scholarships/aid that they have available. Hyperlinks to their financial aid websites are included. Please make sure that you look over this information as both automatic and competitive scholarships are included. 

National scholarship search sites: These websites can help you search for national scholarships that you may be eligible for.

Financial Aid Parent Meeting:  OHS hosts a parent meeting in October to provide information about financial aid.  A representative from the Missouri Department of Higher Education is available to lead you through filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms and applying for scholarships.  Look for the date and time of this meeting to be posted in the student bulletin, The Odessan, and on our website.
